Ann Johansson is an award-winning documentary photographer that has traveled the world extensively covering everything from extreme poverty, climate change and civil war to Hollywood celebrities and corporate culture. She works with a clientele of leading national and international publications such as NBCNews.com, The New York Times, the Smithsonian, The Guardian, Le Monde and Der Spiegel. Ann’s recent work includes documenting UCLA’s first hand-transplant patient through the entire process including the surgery and rehabilitation and chronicling the Marriott Bridges Foundation’s successful work assistance program for young people with disabilities. Ann was commissioned to document people in different climate zones for Klimahaus Museum, a museum in Bremerhaven, Germany, that is built around the concept of climates and climate change. This project spanned over two years and took Ann to locations around the world. Today, in addition to editorial and corporate work, Ann continues a long-term personal project documenting climates and climate’s effect on people. Ann’s first book CAUSE + CELEB is being release Fall 2015. In the book Ann uses her CELEB portraits to highlight different ways to give back.
